Steel fixing chargehand • North Ayrshire, Scotland

Vacancy available: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in North Ayrshire, Scotland. You will work at a rebar fabrication workshop. Requirements: • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations • Aware of concrete cover and tolerance requirements • Valid site safety card and PPE (helmet, boots, gloves) On a typical shift you will read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules; bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine; lap and splice bars to the specified lap length; check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust; assemble column and beam cages on the bench. £15 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Meals and transport allowance provided. Six days a week, one day off. Contact us to fix an interview.
