Shuttering carpenter — Merthyr Tydfil County Borough

Vacancy available: we are hiring a shuttering carpenter in Merthyr Tydfil County Borough, Wales. You will work at a precast concrete yard. You will read formwork drawings and setting-out marks to position the shutters; apply mould-release oil to the plywood faces before concreting; seal panel joints and hold the correct concrete cover to prevent grout loss; strike and strip the formwork once the concrete has cured; check alignment with spirit level, plumb bob and string line; watch the formwork during concreting and tighten up any movement. Ideal candidate: • Skilled with circular saw, hand tools and spirit level • Sound understanding of props, bracing and load-bearing • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long shifts Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
