We are recruiting: we are hiring a core maker in Northumberland, England. The job is on the moulding line. Your main tasks: • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces You should have: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Basic grinding and fettling skills Rotating shifts.
