Great opportunity: tig welder (Texas)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a tig welder in Upshur County, Texas. You will be based at a precision engineering workshop. What we are looking for: • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height • Valid welder certification (ASME IX / ISO 9606 an advantage) On the job you will handle: • Strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges Pay around $26 per hour, based on your experience.
