Now hiring: we are hiring a furnace operator in Worcestershire, England. You will be based on the moulding line. The role involves maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand. You should have: • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough. Six days a week, one day off. £17 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Contact us to fix an interview.
