Great opportunity: we are hiring a metal caster in Wyandotte County, Kansas. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. Day to day you will inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges. Requirements: • Basic grinding and fettling skills • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards Rotating shifts. $3,200 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
