Vacancy available: we are hiring a ladle pourer in North Lincolnshire, England. The job is in the melting bay of a steel foundry. You should have: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor The role involves mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale.
