What we are looking for: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry Your main tasks: • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
