Now hiring: we are hiring a furnace operator in Kenton County, Kentucky. The role involves: • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together You should have: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal 4+ years on the tools preferred. $2,700 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
