Vacancy available: we are hiring a gardener in Hancock County, West Virginia. You will be based in a public park. Day to day you will rake up fallen leaves, grass clippings and garden waste; prune hedges, shrubs and ornamental trees with secateurs and hedge trimmers; dig over and turn the soil and prepare seedbeds; plant seasonal bedding plants, bulbs and saplings; apply fertiliser, compost and mulch to beds; sharpen, clean and oil hand tools and mower blades. Ideal candidate: • Good knowledge of common plants, shrubs and seasonal planting • Happy to work outdoors in all weather • Pesticide spraying certificate (PA1/PA6) an advantage Rotating shifts.
