Join our team: we are hiring a foundry worker in Koochiching County, Minnesota. On the job you will handle: • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects You should have: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling 5+ years on the tools preferred.
