Now hiring: we are hiring a scaffolding labourer in Coles County, Illinois. You will work on a bridge maintenance job. Ideal candidate: • Physically fit for repeated heavy lifting of tubes and boards • Able to read basic scaffold drawings • Good head for heights and comfortable on open platforms Day-to-day duties: • Tighten right-angle and swivel couplers to torque with a podger spanner • Plumb the standards and level the ledgers with a spirit level • Hoist tubes, boards and fittings up by gin wheel and rope • Fix transoms and bracing to keep the structure square and rigid • Dismantle the scaffold in reverse sequence and lower materials safely • Install ladder access and ladder gates between the lifts Freshers welcome — about 1 years of practice is enough.
