Now hiring: we are hiring a ladle pourer in Yuba County, California. You will work in a non-ferrous casting shop. The role involves: • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale • Prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch Requirements: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection Overtime paid at a premium rate.
