Now hiring: we are hiring a gang bricklayer in Lyon County, Kentucky. Day-to-day duties: • Forming arches, piers and reveals around openings • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Building cavity walls and bedding in wall ties and insulation • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge • Cutting bricks to size with a bolster and club hammer or angle grinder • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser Requirements: • Sound knowledge of mortar mixes and bonds (stretcher, English, Flemish) • Able to lay to line, level and plumb consistently Performance bonus on top of base pay.
