Join our team: we are hiring a furnace operator in Dade County, Georgia. What we are looking for: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Your main tasks: • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
