Now hiring: bar bender and fixer (Michigan)

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a bar bender and fixer in Schoolcraft County, Michigan. You will be based on a civil engineering bridge and roads site. You should have: • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire • Physically fit for heavy lifting and long spells bending and kneeling The role involves: • Fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover • Bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine • Install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat • Form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions • Cut rebar to length with a bar cutter or angle grinder • Assemble column and beam cages on the bench Full-time with occasional weekends.
