Now hiring: we are hiring a mechanical press operator in Bridgend county borough, Wales. You will work in a sheet metal stamping unit. On a typical shift you will feed blanks into the die and remove formed parts; adjust press stroke, shut height and tonnage settings; record output and downtime on the production sheet; watch for cracks, burrs, wrinkles and double-hits on parts; set up and change stamping dies and tooling; top up the press hydraulic oil and grease the slide ways. You should have: • Basic understanding of metal grades and thicknesses • Can use vernier calipers, micrometers and go/no-go gauges £12 per hour, negotiable for the right hands. Meals and transport allowance provided. Part-time with flexible hours. Walk-in interviews this week.
