We are recruiting: we are hiring a shakeout operator in Suffolk County, Massachusetts. The job is at a busy iron foundry. The role involves maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects. Ideal candidate: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
