Steel fixer wanted in Bedford County

Now hiring: we are hiring a steel fixer in Bedford County, Tennessee. On a typical shift you will check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour; read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules; form stirrups, links and hooks to the correct dimensions; lap and splice bars to the specified lap length; lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors; set out starter bars and column dowels for the next lift. Ideal candidate: • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Proven experience as a steel fixer on building or civil sites • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing Freshers welcome — about 6 years of practice is enough.
