Argon welder — Anchorage Municipality

We are recruiting: we are hiring an argon welder in Anchorage Municipality, Alaska. You will work at a stainless steel fabrication shop. You should have: • Own basic hand tools and PPE • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances On a typical shift you will set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; back-purge stainless pipe to stop root oxidation (sugaring); feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle; carry out 6G pipe welds where required; select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding. 3+ years on the tools preferred.
