Vacancy available: we are hiring a machinist in Ovia North-East, Edo. You will be based at a knitwear stitching unit. You should have: • Good eyesight and steady hands for fine, accurate stitching • Understands fabric types and how to handle knits versus wovens Your main tasks: • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Change needles, presser feet and folders to suit the fabric and operation • Operate single-needle lockstitch, overlock and flatlock machines on a production line • Trim loose threads, clip curves and notch corners as you go • Clear thread jams, re-time the looper and oil the machine before the shift Freshers welcome — about 3 years of practice is enough.
