Vacancy available: we are hiring a ladle pourer in Fayette County, Iowa. What we are looking for: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Basic grinding and fettling skills On a typical shift you will shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; prepare green-sand moulds and ram the sand into the moulding boxes; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand; fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects.
