Day to day you will grind back and re-weld any defective runs; set the wire feed speed and voltage to suit the plate thickness; control distortion with a balanced welding sequence; set the shielding-gas flow on the CO2/argon-mix regulator; read fabrication drawings and weld symbols; lay stringer and weave beads on fillet and butt joints. Ideal candidate: • Able to read weld symbols and fabrication drawings • 2+ years on MIG/MAG (GMAW) welding • Steady hand and good eyesight for tight tolerances Full-time, day shift.
