Vacancy available: we are hiring a fettler in Yadkin County, North Carolina. You will be based at a busy iron foundry. Requirements: • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Knowledge of green-sand and resin-bonded moulding Day-to-day duties: • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles Full-time with occasional weekends.
