Stainless steel welder — Putnam County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a stainless steel welder in Putnam County, Florida. You will be based at an automotive body and exhaust shop. Ideal candidate: • Aware of PPE, fume extraction and hot-work safety • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Sound knowledge of argon gas settings and tungsten selection Day-to-day duties: • Inspect welds visually for porosity, cracks and undercut • Run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Keep the arc length and travel speed consistent • Grind, blend and polish finished welds to a clean finish • Clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush Full-time with occasional weekends.
