Urgent requirement: aluminium tig welder (Alaska)

Now hiring: we are hiring an aluminium tig welder in Fairbanks North Star Borough, Alaska. Ideal candidate: • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through • Able to read isometric and fabrication drawings • Physically fit to work in confined spaces and at height The role involves set up the argon shielding gas and check the flow rate at the regulator; strike and hold a stable arc with a non-consumable tungsten electrode; weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions; inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion; clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding; prep and fit up the joint, then lay tack welds before the full run. 5+ years on the tools preferred. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
