Great opportunity: we are hiring a gtaw welder in Contra Costa County, California. You will be based in a food and dairy equipment factory. Ideal candidate: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Able to pass a practical weld test on the first day Day-to-day duties: • Clean the base metal with a stainless brush and acetone before welding • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Grind and sharpen tungsten electrodes to the correct taper • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions Rotating shifts.
