Brick and block layer • Brown County, Texas

Urgent requirement: we are hiring a brick and block layer in Brown County, Texas. You will be based on a busy housing site. What we are looking for: • Proven experience laying facing and engineering bricks • NVQ Level 2 in Bricklaying an advantage • Able to read construction drawings and setting-out marks On the job you will handle: • Spreading and furrowing mortar beds with the trowel • Mixing mortar to the right consistency with sand, cement and plasticiser • Pointing and repointing weathered mortar joints • Buttering the perpends and tapping each brick down to the gauge • Setting out walls from the drawings and marking the brick gauge • Erecting and working off trestles and scaffold lifts 2+ years on the tools preferred.
