Immediate opening: we are hiring a foundry operative in Madison County, Nebraska. The role involves pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles; skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring; make and bake sand cores for the internal cavities; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together. Requirements: • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection • Willing to wear full PPE such as heat-resistant apron, spats and visor • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling 4+ years on the tools preferred.
