Immediate opening: steel fixer (Virginia)

We are recruiting: we are hiring a steel fixer in Campbell County, Virginia. You will work on a civil engineering bridge and roads site. Day-to-day duties: • Read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules • Bend bars to shape on a bar bending machine • Tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers • Keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust • Check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level 3+ years on the tools preferred.
