Great opportunity: we are hiring a banksman in Somerset County, Maryland. Day to day you will direct the crane operator with standard hand signals and radio; secure loads with turnbuckles, chain blocks and lever hoists; attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks; take part in toolbox talks and pre-lift briefings; check sling angles to stay within the working load limit; fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of working load limits and sling angles • Confident with standard crane hand signals • Proven experience as a rigger on construction or industrial sites Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough. Rotating shifts. Overtime paid at a premium rate. Walk-in interviews this week.
