Ideal candidate: • Knows feeds, speeds and tooling for steel, aluminium and cast iron • Proficient with micrometers, vernier callipers and dial gauges The role involves monitor tool wear and change blunt inserts and cutters; apply cutting coolant and clear swarf from the machine bed; set spindle speeds and feed rates to suit the material and cutter; carry out daily lubrication and routine machine maintenance; read engineering drawings and GD&T to plan the machining sequence.
