Ideal candidate: • Sharp eye for safety and hazard awareness • Proven experience as a rigger on construction or industrial sites Day-to-day duties: • Calculate load weight and centre of gravity before every lift • Fit tag lines to control and steady suspended loads • Set up spreader bars and lifting beams for long or awkward loads • Attach wire rope and chain slings to loads using shackles and hooks • Guide loads through tight openings into their final position • Select the correct slings, shackles and chains for each load's weight Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. $3,000 per month, negotiable for the right hands.
