Join our team: we are hiring an ironing operator in Prince George County, Virginia. You should have: • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep • Able to operate a steam press, vacuum table and fusing machine • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment You will shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press; set the iron temperature to suit cotton, silk, wool and synthetic fabrics; clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents; spray water or starch to set sharp creases on trousers and shirts; use a pressing cloth to protect delicate fabrics. 1+ years on the tools preferred.
