Great opportunity: we are hiring a steel fixer in Imperial County, California. You will be based at a rebar fabrication workshop. Requirements: • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing • Own basic tools such as pliers, tie hook, tape and level • Able to read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules Your main tasks: • Fix cover blocks and spacers to maintain concrete cover • Install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat • Lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman • Keep the rebar stacked, tagged and free of mud and loose rust • Tie bar intersections with binding wire using a tie hook or pliers • Lay and tie mesh for slabs and ground-bearing floors 3+ years on the tools preferred. Rotating shifts. On-the-job training and a clear path to grow. $5,100 per month, negotiable for the right hands. Walk-in interviews this week.
