Ideal candidate: • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Your main tasks: • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces Rotating shifts.
