Immediate opening: we are hiring a laundry presser in Greater London, England. The job is at a garment factory. Ideal candidate: • Aware of steam iron safety and basic machine upkeep • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings • A keen eye for scorch, shine and uneven creases Day-to-day duties: • Clean and descale the iron soleplate and steam vents • Remove creases, wrinkles and packing folds with a steam iron • Sort bundles by fabric, shade and order number • Give each garment a final press before packing • Shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board • Fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press At least 6 year(s) in a similar role.
