Now hiring: we are hiring a machinist in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. You will work at a busy garment factory. On the job you will handle: • Sew bartacks and buttonholes and attach buttons where required • Thread the machine, wind bobbins and balance top and bottom tension • Set armholes and sleeves, easing the cap so there are no puckers • Keep an even stitch density (SPI) and a straight, consistent seam line You should have: • Hands-on with single needle, overlock and flatlock machines • Able to read a spec sheet and follow a sewing operation breakdown • Comfortable working long hours seated at a fast line We offer $4,400 per month plus benefits.
