Great opportunity: sand plant operator (Virginia)

Now hiring: we are hiring a sand plant operator in Stafford County, Virginia. The job is at a busy iron foundry. The role involves: • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Pour molten metal into the moulds using hand or crane ladles • Inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand Requirements: • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Keen eye for casting defects during inspection Freshers welcome — about 5 years of practice is enough. Pay around $3,500 per month, based on your experience. Full-time, day shift. Walk-in interviews this week.
