Vacancy available: we are hiring a vacuum press operator in Jackson County, Ohio. The job is at a dry cleaner's. On a typical shift you will press open seams, darts and pleats during stitching; give each garment a final press before packing; fuse interlinings and fusible tape on the fusing press; use a pressing cloth to protect delicate fabrics; shape collars, cuffs and lapels using a tailor's ham and sleeve board; keep the boiler topped up and hold steady steam pressure. You should have: • Sound knowledge of fabric types and correct heat settings • Able to keep pace with line speed and piece targets • Comfortable standing long shifts in a hot, humid environment Rotating shifts.
