Now hiring: we are hiring a heavy equipment operator in Houghton County, Michigan. You will be based on an earthmoving and excavation site. On a typical shift you will work in coordination with the banksman and ground crew on signals; carry out daily pre-start checks on engine oil, coolant, hydraulic fluid and track tension; top up diesel, inspect hydraulic hoses for leaks and report defects; break rock and concrete with the hydraulic breaker attachment; keep the cab clean and complete the daily machine logbook; keep a safe distance from excavation edges and overhead lines. Ideal candidate: • Awareness of site safety, PPE and lifting procedures • Able to read levels, pegs and basic site drawings Full-time with occasional weekends.
