Aluminium TIG welder — Lake and Peninsula Borough

Great opportunity: we are hiring an aluminium TIG welder in Lake and Peninsula Borough, Alaska. You will work at a busy fabrication workshop. On a typical shift you will strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal; feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool; run butt, fillet, lap and corner joints to spec; clean joints with acetone and a dedicated stainless wire brush; read welding symbols and joint details off the fabrication drawing; sharpen tungsten electrodes and fit the correct gas cup size. You should have: • Comfortable working off scaffolds and in tight spaces • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Can read fabrication drawings and welding symbols At least 4 year(s) in a similar role. Pay around $5,200 per month, based on your experience. Meals and transport allowance provided. Six days a week, one day off. Contact us to fix an interview.
