Commis chef wanted in Buchanan County

Vacancy available: we are hiring a commis chef in Buchanan County, Iowa. The job is in a hospital or office canteen. On the job you will handle: • Follow standardised recipes and stick to portion sizes • Plate and garnish dishes for a quick pass to service • Marinate meats and prepare curries, gravies and bases • Prepare stocks, sauces and soups from scratch • Label and date all prepped ingredients in the walk-in Ideal candidate: • Able to stand for long shifts and work in heat • Sound knowledge of HACCP and food safety standards • Food hygiene / FoSTaC certificate At least 5 year(s) in a similar role. Six days a week, one day off. Overtime paid at a premium rate. We offer $2,900 per month plus benefits. Walk-in interviews this week.
