Immediate opening: furnace operator (Florida)

Immediate opening: we are hiring a furnace operator in Lake County, Florida. Day to day you will inspect castings for cold shuts, blowholes and shrinkage defects; maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings; check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring; mix and recondition moulding sand to the right moisture; shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale; carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand. You should have: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Basic grinding and fettling skills Freshers welcome — about 4 years of practice is enough.
