Now hiring: we are hiring a sheet metal welder in Kaufman County, Texas. You will work at a pipe-fitting and pressure-vessel shop. Day-to-day duties: • Set the argon flow on the flowmeter and check the hose for leaks • Strike the arc with high-frequency start and control heat with the foot pedal • Clamp and fit up components on the jig before welding • Feed filler rod by hand while holding a steady weld pool Ideal candidate: • ITI or trade certificate in welding an advantage • Good eyesight for fine sheet-metal work • Steady hand and good hand-eye coordination 5+ years on the tools preferred.
