Ladle pourer wanted in Berkshire County

Great opportunity: we are hiring a ladle pourer in Berkshire County, Massachusetts. You will be based at a busy iron foundry. Your main tasks: • Maintain crucibles, ladles and furnace linings • Assemble cope and drag mould halves and clamp them together • Cut off risers, runners and gates with a grinder or torch • Melt scrap metal and ingots in induction or cupola furnaces • Operate the sand muller and the reclamation plant • Check melt temperature with a pyrometer before pouring Ideal candidate: • Willing to work in hot, dusty conditions and rotating shifts • Physically fit to lift heavy moulding boxes and castings • Experience working in a ferrous or non-ferrous foundry Six days a week, one day off. Meals and transport allowance provided. Walk-in interviews this week.
