You should have: • Comfortable working to tight fit-up tolerances • Able to weld thin-gauge sheet without burn-through On the job you will handle: • Select the tungsten type and gas cup size to suit the job • Weld in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions • Control heat input so thin sheet does not warp • Feed the filler rod by hand while controlling the weld puddle • Inspect welds for porosity, undercut and lack of fusion • Weld stainless steel, aluminium and mild steel in thin gauges Overtime paid at a premium rate.
