You should have: • Sound knowledge of petrol and diesel engines • Confident using diagnostic scan tools • Able to read wiring diagrams and workshop manuals On the job you will handle: • Replace alternators, starter motors and batteries • Recharge and service the air-conditioning system • Diagnose engine faults using an OBD-II scan tool • Read fault codes and clear them after the repair • Check and top up coolant, brake fluid and power-steering fluid • Service and replace timing belts and chains Freshers welcome — about 2 years of practice is enough.
