Foundry labourer • York County, Nebraska

We are recruiting: we are hiring a foundry labourer in York County, Nebraska. The job is in the fettling and dressing shop. Your main tasks: • Apply mould coatings and dress the mould cavity • Fettle and grind castings to remove flash and rough edges • Carry out shakeout and knock the castings out of the sand • Tap the furnace and transfer the metal to the ladle • Skim slag and dross off the melt before tapping and pouring • Shot-blast castings to clean off burnt sand and scale Requirements: • Comfortable working close to furnaces and molten metal • Able to read simple casting drawings and job cards • Understanding of safe slinging and crane-ladle signalling Pay around $4,200 per month, based on your experience.
