Immediate opening: we are hiring a steel fixing chargehand in McHenry County, Illinois. The job is at a precast concrete yard. The role involves read reinforcement drawings and bar bending schedules; lift and land prefabricated cages with the crane and banksman; install chairs and bar supports to hold up the top mat; lap and splice bars to the specified lap length; check bar diameter, spacing and cover before the pour. Ideal candidate: • Sound knowledge of lap lengths, cover and bar spacing • Confident tying with a tie hook and handling binding wire • Comfortable working at height and in deep excavations At least 2 year(s) in a similar role.
